Achieving Your Goals,
Hello and welcome to everyone,
It only seems like yesterday that I had the teleseminars, and now the year 2010 is upon us. I would like to think
that you have all set your goals for this year, because before you know it the year will be over. Just imagine
this, take yourself to December 31st 2010 and you meet one of your friends that you had told at the beginning of
the year, what you wanted to achieve in 2010. Your friend asks you at your New Year's party, those goals you were
telling me about, how many of them did you achieve? What will your answer be?
Now is your chance to tell the story that you really want to tell. If you are one of those people who have
already set your goals for the year, that's great. How do you intend to achieve what you need to achieve? For me
personally I have been using some of the EFT Techniques
that Russell Cunningham told
us about on the Teleseminar. These techniques help you make a shift in your belief system, these shifts are
important for your success.
There is also the mind movie, making a movie about the future
you are aiming for. When you make a movie about your future, you can use affirmations and have your favorite song
in the movie. When you use more than one of your senses, you align to the goal quicker and achievement is easier.
This is one of the main secrets to achievement, to feel as though you already have the goal, then work back from
there. Take ACTION To acquire the feelings, it may take a month or more, another important goal setting fact is to
not set your goals too high for where your at now, or self-sabotaging will prevent your achievement.
Watch your mind movie everyday morning and night, they only take a few minutes. At this point you need to
observe what message is going through your mind. Is it, I don't have time to do that or am I too busy? Because
these are the stories that will hold you back and keep you in the same place. Remember if you always do the same
thing over and over again, you can't expect a different result. This is the difference between people who are
successful and those that are unsuccessful, it's the successful people who push through their negative stories,
tell positive stories and form good habits on their journey, while unsuccessful people give up.
You can always do the open Open Eyed Meditation. to keep
you on track, using Paula Christie's DVD daily. Using opened eyed meditation keeps you balanced, motivated and
energized. Each Chakra has different colors, these colors are like the colors of the rainbow. By understanding
what each one doe's, you can use that to motivate yourself forward. On the inside of the cover of Paula's DVD she
has "Meditation is a gift you give yourself that creates a place of peace, positive energy and LOVE". In the world
we live in, it can be so easy to feel unloved. I was touched by these simple words because it can be a lonely
journey when you want to achieve your goals. Meditation will help quiet the chitter chatter or noise that we all
have, it will allow that soft quiet voice to come through more often to guide you forward. The oneness that can be
achieved from meditation is quiet incredible, but like I said, the chitter chatter must be turned down, so you can
start to really take control of where you want to be. Meditation helps with awareness. As you open up your heart
more and begin to trust the inner voice, you become more aware of your stories that you have been telling yourself
for so long.
Heena introduced a bit of a different concept with the board
game,Snakes and Ladders of Life. With this incredible game it
helps you to realize life is a game, it is more about how we play the game. What are the rules you make for
yourself? Are they the rules that you live by or are they rules that you only want to impose onto others because
there is a picture that is in your head about what the rules should look like. The game of life shows you exactly
where you are in life, when you play the game. Some of these little traits that are harbored can be a little
confronting to look at. But you must look at yourself, if you want to take your goal setting serious and move
yourself forward massively. The game is similar to snakes and ladders, where you are either climbing the ladders
or the snake takes you down. The snake is more like the old issues that have not been dealt with, or it is like
setting a goal that is far too high and you will always keep sliding back to where you were, until you are aligned
to where you want to be. Often it isn't how you play the game, but more about how you react to the game that life
puts in front of you. Take small steps, as it is better to achieve small goals than to not achieve at all.
Russell also talked about how you can bring your goals together through, what is known as
Time Line Therapy.
Time line therapy is when you take yourself out into the future and see your goal as already being achieved,
looking back to where you have come from. Look at the person you have needed to become to achieve your goals. What
are people saying to you about your goal achievement? The more senses you use the more likely the goal will feel
like a reality.
Time line therapy helps you to recognize evidence of having achieved your goal. This evidence maybe something like,
when I achieve my goal I will buy the latest 4x4 wagon. See the color of your new vehicle, smell the leather seats,
feel the steering wheel in your hands, hear the children laughing or singing in the back seat and most of all get
excited about the goal. We all have our movie within; you just need to believe you can have it and ACTION the goal.
We all have limiting beliefs you just need to see what you're limiting believe is.
I personally believe that if you don't have a big enough ?WHY? you won't start the goal, nor will you push
through the challenges that everyone faces when setting goals. So keep it simple and uncomplicated. The word SMART
is always good to remember when goal setting, it means Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Tangible.
I personally set goals every year, and unless I write them down and revise them often I would forget about the
reason WHY I set the goal. Keep yourself moving forward, and set yourself FREE once and for all.
I have given you five web-sites that will help you achieve your goals for 2010; I also offer my professional
services as a Goal Setting Coach.
I have used a coach and have realized the importance of being accountable. Let's face it, when you know someone will
be ringing you at the end of a week or two to check up on whether you have accomplished the task at hand, you
certainly make the effort to achieve the task. This has helped me lose my "busy story" and find a new achievable
story. So then, why do we procrastinate with our goals? Well that is another strategy for newsletter No 2.
